Why We Started Mark the Milestones

When our first baby was born, we were deeply in love, completely exhausted, and honestly just trying to get through the days. We wanted to do all the thoughtful, meaningful things you see other parents doing. But the truth is, money was tight and we couldn’t even afford a baby book.

Time didn’t slow down for that, though. Days blurred together. Weeks passed in a blink. She changed so quickly, and I kept thinking, “If I don’t write this down, I’m going to forget it.” So one day I asked my husband to pick up any cute book at the pharmacy. Just because it was what we could manage. On the very first page, her grandfather wrote her an unforgettable letter with very important life advise and with his love to her.

We filled it in slowly. Her first smile. Her first laugh. The first night she slept just a little longer than usual. Ordinary moments that didn’t feel ordinary at all. Little notes about who she was becoming, written in the middle of very full, very tired days.

When our second child was born, we did the same thing. This time we bought a baby binder so that we could add more pages as he grew. We requested another beautiful first page message from their grandfather. A year later, he passed away.

Now, both of our children have his words. They can open those first pages anytime and see how deeply they were loved before they could even read. Our daughter has cried at age 5 when we read the book to her. Those books, the ones we almost didn’t buy because we couldn’t afford much, are now priceless to us.

Looking back, I realize it was never about having the perfect baby book. It was about pausing long enough to say, “This matters.” About writing things down because life moves fast and memory fades.

That’s where this all began. Not with a business plan or a big idea. Just real life. A desire to hold onto moments that felt like they were slipping through our fingers. We love capturing these moments along with curating cute baby and gift items.

This is a woman-owned, family-run business because it started in our own family. Around our own kitchen table. With our own kids. Every memory book we make is shaped by those early days and that quiet wish that time would slow down, even just a little.

Over the years, we’ve grown to include more than books. We now put together gifts for new babies, birthdays, milestones, and meaningful moments that deserve to be remembered. Each one is chosen with care, the same way we once chose that simple little book and hoped it would hold something important.

Giving back matters to us too. Each month, we support hungry, low-income children, and as we grow, we hope to help more causes that are close to our hearts. Because love shouldn’t stop with your own family.

When I flip through our kids’ books now, I cry. I smile. I hear voices that aren’t here anymore. I remember versions of ourselves that only existed for a short season. And I’m so grateful we took the time to write it down.

We didn’t buy those books because they were beautiful. We bought them because we were afraid of forgetting. Somehow, they became the most beautiful things we own.

Kids grow fast. Life changes. People we love don’t stay forever. But when you take the time to write things down, love finds a way to last.
